40 METERS
There are two antenna systems in use. A M2 40M4FS 125MPH rotatable beam at 160' and a Comtek 4SQR array. Both are selectable using a microHam Stack Max switch and can be alternated for TX and RX (listen on one, transmit on the other). Beverage antennas can be used for receive.
40M4FS
The 40M4FS is a stock M2 40M3FS with the add-on fourth element. The element spacing was modified to a OWA design in Oct '08 and the antenna performance has significantly improved. The antenna is mounted on a three motor TIC ring using a GHE control. This has been the lowest maintenance rotator and the most reliable. Below are views of the beam on the ground and Andy from XX Towers fixing the 160' beam after ice storm.

4SQR
The Comtek phase system is used with a microHam Stack Max switch. The elements are quarter wave free standing aluminum conduit. Spacing is the conventional design as recommended by Comtek. Orientation is 60/150/240/330 degrees. Verticals are bottom loaded for fine tuning. All four verticals are connected to DX Engineering radial plates mounted at the base. There are at least 240 external radials.
